The National Research Fund (NRF) was established under the Science, Technology, and Innovation Act No. 28 of 2013 to facilitate research and development activities in Kenya.

Egerton University is the oldest institution of higher learning in Kenya. It was founded as a Farm School in 1939 by Lord Maurice Egerton of Tatton.

Nakuru County is an agriculturally-rich county blessed with diverse natural attractions including Lake Nakuru National Park, Lake Naivasha, and the Menengai Crater. It was officially designated as Kenya's fourth city in 2021.
